Two centuries of heritage. Four films to hold it.
The Brooks Brothers 200th Anniversary series was the most visible out-of-home project I've ever led. It was shown in Gangnam Square in Seoul, Times Square in Tokyo, in every Brooks Brothers store worldwide, on their website, and at their gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The challenge was as much editorial as creative. I condensed 200 years of fashion history into four 90-second films. These were organized thematically around Armed Forces, Family, Tailoring, and Iconic Styles. It required a system for managing an enormous library of materials before a single frame of animation could begin.
Working directly with Senior Creative Director Mike Ray, I built a workflow for moving through the archive quickly without losing track of what we had. This left us with room for experimentation, which made the final work as powerful as it was.
