Live events don't forgive mistakes. This one was no exception.
The first iHeartMedia Music Festival was a three-day live event in Las Vegas, built around broadcast graphics, stage screens, and digital content. It was iHeartMedia's first TV entertainment franchise, produced under real-time pressure with a young creative team and a scope that kept expanding.
I came in as the onsite post-production and graphics lead: catching what fell through the cracks, solving problems before the client noticed, and delivering in conditions where there was no margin for error. What happened that weekend is best described by the Creative Director who hired me.
"Kalika was 5 months pregnant with twins yet made sure the entire, massive undertaking came off without a hitch. I've never experienced anything like it, before or since. Our creative team was relatively young for the level and volume of work that needed to be produced. Kalika was critical in catching and fixing mistakes, creating additional video deliverables, and dealing with last-minute client requests. While her extensive creative and technical expertise enabled her to make the work happen, it was her work ethic that made Kalika an essential leader. She's the best kind of collaborator: with Kalika on your project, you won't have to worry." — Ben Patterson, Creative Director/Executive Producer, iHeartRadio Music Festival
